Karma Thegsum Choling (San Diego) presents the Venerable Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin
teaching on Shantideva's Life and text "The Way of the Bodhisattva
(Bodhicharyavatara)"
San Diego, CA, February 3, 2006: Public Talk: "The Life of Shantideva"
Khenpo Ugyen will give a public talk on the life of Shantideva, an 8th century
Buddhist scolar and integral figure in Buddhist philosophy. Khenpo Ugyen will give a
talk on his life and take questions from the audience.

"The Way of the Bodhisattva" by Shantideva.
Saturday, Khenpo Ugyen will speak on "The Excellence of Bodhicitta" and "Confesion"
Sunday, Khenpo Ugyen will teach on "Commitment" and "Awareness" on the Bodhisattva
path.

The Venerable Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin was enrolled in the first class of Karma Shri
Nalanda Institute at Rumtek with Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and Sangyay Nyenpa
Rinpoche. He received the Acharya degree from Nalanda Institute and Sampurnanand
Sanskrit University, jointlty, in 1991. As a Khenpo, he taught Buddhist philosophy
for six years at Nimalung Monastery in Bhutan. Then, he was Senior Abbot/Principal
Teacher at Nalanda Institute at Rumtek, Dharma Chakra Center from 1997 to 2002.
Khenpo Urgyen is currently a resident teacher at Karma Triyana Darmachakra, the
North American seat of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje,
head of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
